Doesn't Mind Taxes
William D. Galloway, Jr., described Narberth as "a really swell town with more community activity than any other town along the Main Line."
"You pay more taxes to live in Narberth" he said, "but it's worth it. You get a lot more for your tax dollar than you do in any other community."
Galloway, a member of the printing and stationery firm of H. T. White & Co. in Philadelphia, first came to Narberth in 1924 as a teen-ager. After he moved around a bit, he "stumbled on a house in 1945" and has been in Narberth since then.
Galloway, the father of three boys, lives at 4 Shirley road. He likes the public school where his sons are pupils because both parents and pupils are "closer to the teachers and principal than in a larger place."
Wider streets are the big need of the town, he says.
