Good Police Force

Mrs. Blanche Humphries, who with her son J. Boyd operates the Narberth taxi cab company, says, "I wouldn't eat if I left Narberth because everybody I know is here."

Mrs. Humphries says, "what I like about the town is its friendliness. If you walk down the street, there's always a 'Hi-ya' from somebody you know. You can always find someone to talk to.

"We have an excellent police force here and fine community services. It's pretty hard to say just why you like a town so much. You just like it, that's all."

Mrs. Humphries, who lives at 215 Haverford av., has been in Narberth for 31 years. "One thing I've noticed," she said, "is that if anyone has been away — on a trip or if he's moved away — the first thing he does when he comes back is to drop down to the center of town because he wants to talk things over with old friends. He knows he'll find them here."
